Join Desiree for a fun and educational workshop designed for individuals and families who want to learn how to properly care for their plants and master the art of potting and repotting as they grow. This hands-on class will equip both kids and adults with the knowledge and skills needed to keep their plants healthy and thriving. Participants will get to choose a plant and a vessel to pot and take home, creating a personalized addition to their green space.

What We’ll Cover:

  • Plant Selection: Understanding how to choose the right plant based on individual preferences and environmental conditions.

  • Getting to Know Your Plant: Learning about the specific needs of the chosen plant, including light, water, and soil requirements.

  • Potting Basics: Hands-on guidance on how to properly pot a plant, including selecting the right soil and pot size.

  • Plant Care Tips: Practical advice on ongoing care, such as watering schedules, fertilization, and pruning.

  • Problem-Solving: Addressing common plant care questions and troubleshooting issues like pests, diseases, and overwatering.

  • Decorative Techniques: Tips on how to aesthetically arrange plants and pots for an appealing display.

  • Q&A Session: Open forum for participants to ask specific plant care questions and receive personalized advice.

Workshop Flow:

  • Introduction: We’ll begin with a brief overview of the day's activities and a discussion of participants' experiences with plants.

  • Plant Care Basics: Learn about the specific care needs of different types of plants and how to create the best environment for each one.

  • Potting Demonstration: Watch a demonstration on how to pot and repot plants, including tips on when and why repotting is necessary.

  • Hands-On Activity: Participants will choose a plant and a vessel, then pot their plant themselves, applying their newly acquired knowledge.

What to Bring:

  • All Materials Provided: All necessary materials for potting plants will be provided. Participants will get to choose a plant and a vessel to pot and take home, creating a personalized addition to their green space.

  • An open mind and a willingness to learn something new!

  • A pair of gardening gloves if desired

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

Please note: Please note that potting can be a messy activity involving dirt and soil. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty and bringing an apron if you have one. All materials and tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your own gardening gloves if preferred.
